Reflective Room is the winning design of the Courtyard Project competition involving the students at the Manchester School of Architecture and the Manchester Museum. This blog will display daily updates of the progress of the Reflective Room up until its construction on site, as well as documenting the individual submissions and shortlisted designs. The concept for ‘Panoramic Environment’ was inspired by the continuous passing and changing scene while events unfold on site. Making people aware of their environment; achieving this by the application of material. The use of the black glazed ceramic tiles creates a space where people can sit and contemplate the site.
This project was shortlisted along with four other proposals.
